At Alterna, our mission is to empower Learners all around the globe with accessible, free, and high‑quality computer science curricula, made possible by our team of high-agency remote volunteers.
As personnel focused in Participant Relations within Live Experiences, you’ll provide first-hand support to attendees of the Alterna Artificial Intelligence Model United Nations, (AAIMUN) a fully remote MUN conference. In addition, you’ll ensure committee proceedings happen in an orderly manner during the live event.
This role will take place in Summer 2026 onwards, with an expected Conference Weekend in July 25 & 26th, 2026. No prior experience in live event operations is required, although it is a strong plus.
This is a remote asynchronous-first unpaid volunteering position.
You'll get to
- Provide basic assistance to conference attendees
- Ensure respectful dialogue and discussion on the debate floor
- Assist committee chairs in guiding the committee through the agenda
You'll learn to
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues during sessions
- Calm heated debates and restore order
- Follow MUN rules of procedure and motions
We seek that you have
- At least 16 years of age
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to react appropiately in stressful situations
- Ability to solve problems as they arise, alone or in a team setting
We prefer if you have

- Some background in Model United Nations, international relations, or related fields
- Background in IT, networking, or experience with technical troubleshooting
- Comfort and confidence speaking in public
- Ability to thoughtfully integrare AI tools into workflows
